Saturday 15th September
Learn how to make jams and chutneys using wild berries and supply yourself with a delicious, ready supply of foods to keep you going through the Winter. We have been making various preserves for over three years and have come to greatly appreciate them. Jams capture the flavours of the Summer and Autumn and provide us with a stock of local fruit for the Winter, enabling us to be more self-sufficient.
In this workshop you will get practical experience and recipes for making preserves from seldom utilised wild berries such as hawthorn and blackthorn sloe, as well as the more commonly used blackberries and elderberries. We will also use cooking apples to make a tasty selection of jams and chutneys. The workshop will take place between 10am and 5pm, refreshments will be provided.
