Honey making Workshop
Date: Saturday 18th August

On average one jar of honey is the result of the work of over 5,300 bees, involving about 80,000 trips between flowers and hive, roughly 50,000 miles of flight and the nectar from over 2 million flowers!
This workshop involved a wonderful insight into the world of bees. First there was a regular inspection of the seven hives we have at the farm, allowing participants to actively take part and see how the bees work (wearing protective clothing). Then the honeycombs where harvested and the honey manually extracted.
